We Applied, But Now Nothing Feels Certain

Acceptance Letters Are Coming and I Don’t Know How to Respond

Acceptance letters are arriving—or about to. Excitement, fear, relief, and pressure often mix together, and you may be unsure how to respond emotionally.

CHECK FIRST
Pause and ask:
Am I reacting to outcomes—or expectations?
What emotions are showing up for me and my senior?
Is this moment about celebration—or processing?
Do we need answers right now?
Responses don’t have to be immediate.

THEN
Choose a supportive posture.

Option 1: Acknowledge the moment without deciding
It’s okay to notice the milestone, celebrate, and pause.

Option 2: Follow your senior’s emotional lead
Their response matters most right now.

Option 3: Give space before next steps
Decisions don’t have to be made instantly.

PAUSE
This moment doesn’t require certainty. You’re allowed to pause here.

NOTES / REFLECTION
If it helps, consider:
What emotions are present right now?
What does my senior need most in this moment?
What can wait?
