I Don’t Know What Actually Matters This Year
I Don’t Know What Actually Matters This Year
Senior year feels full—but unclear. There are events, conversations, decisions, and emotions happening all at once, and it’s hard to know where to put your energy.
CHECK FIRST
Pause and gently ask:
What feels meaningful to my senior right now?
What feels meaningful to me?
What feels loud but not essential?
What would still matter to us years from now?
Urgent doesn’t always mean important.
THEN
Choose a way to simplify without shutting down.
Option 1: Center well-being
Emotional health and connection matter more than perfect plans.
Option 2: Choose a few anchor priorities
You might identify two or three things that matter most this year.
Option 3: Let some things be optional
Not every event, tradition, or expectation has to be included.
PAUSE
You don’t have to do senior year “right.” You only have to do it honestly. You’re allowed to pause here.
NOTES / REFLECTION
If helpful, reflect on:
What feels most meaningful right now?
What feels heavy but not essential?
What can I release without guilt?
